Import Processing Fee Restructure

25 May 2013

Dear Valued Customer,

Re: Restructuring of Import Processing Fee – effective 1 January 2014

As a result of last week’s Federal Budget, the Government announced that the Import Processing Fees on Import Declarations will be restructured as of 1st January 2014.

For Import Declarations valued between A$1,000 and A$10,000, the IPC’s will remain at their current levels (i.e. A$50.00 for Import Sea Declarations, and A$40.20 for Import Air Declarations)

For Import Declarations valued over A$10,000, the IPC will increase by A$102.60 to A$152.60 for Import Sea Declarations, and will increase by A$81.90 to A$122.10 for Import Air Declarations.

At this stage, the Federal Government has made no change to the Low Value Threshold goods (i.e. goods imported at values less than A$1,000).

These changes only apply to the Import Processing Fee on the ICS Fee (not the AQIS Processing or AQIS Container Fees which also go towards the make-up of the ICS Fee on Import Declarations).
