MUA planned protected action at DP World’s terminals in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this week.
The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has advised it will take limited industrial action on Friday, 3 October at the Port of Brisbane.
All members of the MUA employed by DP World Brisbane will engage in a stoppage of four hours duration from 11am until 3pm, and a stoppage of eight hours from 3pm until 11pm.
This follows notification that The MUA would take protected action at DP World’s Melbourne and Sydney terminals this week. As reported, the MUA will engage in industrial action on 1 October (Wednesday) in Sydney and on 2 October (Thursday) in Melbourne, in support of its Enterprise Agreement bargaining.
Stoppages are planned for all members of the MUA employed by:
DP World Sydney from 10.00am Wednesday 1 October until 2.00pm, 6.00pm until 10.00pm and 2.00am until 6.00am on Thursday 2 October.
DP World Melbourne from 12.30pm until 16.30pm Thursday 2 October and 22.30pm Thursday October 2 until 6.30am Friday 3 October.
DP World Australia said that it is working to minimise the impact on customers, both landside and waterside.
