Media Release_ATT status for Transtar

12 October 2017

Transtar has been recognised as a business that operates a secure supply chain and has compliant trade practices.

Transtar International Freight is proud to announce that we have been approved Australian Trusted Trader status by the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

Australian Trusted Trader is a trade facilitation initiative run by the Australian Border Force (ABF). It recognises that Transtar operates a secure supply chain and has compliant trade practices.

Australian Trusted Trader is also an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programme. AEOs work to secure the international supply chain, while facilitating the movement of legitimate trade.

The Australian Trusted Trader programme (ATT) rewards accredited businesses with a growing range of trade facilitation benefits to improve international market access. These benefits currently include:

»  A dedicated Account Manager – the single point of contact between Transtar and the ABF.

»  Priority Trade Services from the Border Protection department.

»  A ‘lighter touch’ at the border when importing goods.

»  ATT recognition by international customs administrations.

»  Access to Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) with other countries.

»  A ‘seat at the table’ to work in partnership with the Department and ABF on future initiatives.

More benefits for Trusted Traders will be implemented during the 2017-18 financial year, including:

»  Access to duty deferral arrangements – payments on imported goods deferred for a set period.

»  Streamlined reporting arrangements to reduce the administrative burden for businesses.
