Annie is Group Board Director and Asia CEO of Transtar International Freight. Annie began her career with Transtar in 1991 and has risen rapidly to senior management and the Board of Directors. Annie has been pivotal in establishing 12 new offices across Asia and now leads a team of over 130 people.
Annie was appointed Transtar’s first female branch manager in 1997 and was responsible for a number of major customer and supplier relationships in Australia and Asia. Appointed to her current role in 2007 and located in Transtar’s Regional HQ in Hong Kong, Annie is responsible for all business development across Asia and has led an aggressive expansion plan throughout the region. A highlight of her leadership has been the identification and promotion of talented women throughout the company. Many of Transtar’s Asia sites are managed by women, together with New Zealand, Sydney, and Rotterdam offices.
In recent times, Annie has received many accolades including being selected by the Australian Government in the Australia Unlimited Global 50 Achievers on Australia Day in 2013. She was also nominated for the 2011 and 2012 Telstra Business Women’s Awards. She is proud to be the longest serving female member of YPO (YPO Pan Asia Chapter), in FY16 was appointed YPO Pan Asia Chapter Chair whilst also holding a membership in YPO and YPO Gold Melbourne Chapter and has been elected to the YPO Regional Board as Regional Communication Officer for FY17-19. Annie serves as a council member on the Australian-Guangdong Business Cooperation Council, a joint Chinese and Australian Government initiative, and is also a member of AustCham in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Thailand.
Alongside her fellow Board members, Annie led the team to victory at the Lloyd’s List 18th Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards, crowned Freight Forwarder of the Year 2013. Adding to her trophy cabinet, Annie accepted the Business Excellence Award for Business Services, at the ACBA:2014 AustCham Awards in front of a packed crowd of business and industry luminaries.
Annie is extremely passionate about supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Victoria and is an international Advance member and Australian Institute of Company Directors member. She also leads the business's Asia CSR philosophy by actively volunteering her time and that of her team various CSR projects over the region.
