David is Director and Shareholder of Transtar International Freight. David joined Transtar in 2009 and has been responsible for a major restructure of the business and operations globally. David leads strategy, finance and special projects for the Transtar Group.
Prior to returning to Australia in early 2009, David co-founded a Swiss based development business and for six years was joint Managing Director. The company continues as a very successful developer in the high-end residential market, focussing on mountain resorts and luxury developments around Lake Geneva.
David was previously an Executive and Director of Multiplex Constructions (UK) Ltd. In 1999 David transferred to London to establish the UK business and in addition to his Board responsibilities David was responsible for all new business opportunities in the UK, and reported directly to the Chairman and CEO of the Multiplex Group, the late John Roberts AO.
Before joining Multiplex in 1998, David was a Senior Manager with Arthur Andersen and spent eight years consulting in Australia and the UK. During this time, David worked with publicly listed and private companies in the corporate finance area. Specific engagement experience included mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, trade sales, privatisations, valuations, corporate reconstructions and insolvency. His sector experience has included a cross section of industries including real estate, logistics, retail, mining, health and capital markets.
David holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Melbourne, and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia. In 1999, David was admitted as a Vincent Fairfax Fellow (a leadership program previously administered by the St James Ethics Centre, in Australia).
